Ban the 10 letter A word....
« on: February 06, 2007, 09:38:57 AM »
well...From being used against any blacks at least...I dont have time to find a link, but last night on the O'reilly factor, there was a Temple University Professor calling President Bush a racist because when asked by Neil Cavuto how the troops would support President Obama, President Bush responded "he's good looking, well spoken and very articulate, but he has a long way until he becomes President."  Apparantly to some crazy racist black people that was a derogotory comment.  geez

Don't you see?  It was the "a long way to become President" part that was racist.  Clearly, Bush was stating here that Afferkin-Americans don't make good Presidents.  What a racist!  Now if you'll excuse me I need to go back to shaving my head for the rally.

articulate: expressing oneself readily, clearly, or effectively.

Very few people in professional politics I would characterize as articulate.  Watching wind-bag John Edwards on Meet the Press over the weekend drove that point home.

While I may not always share his views, Obama is one the few politicians that I can stand to listen to for more than 60 seconds without wanting to pull my ears off my cranium.  He is articulate.  His race has nothing to do with it.  Get over it.

That was well put.  "Articulate" is a compliment, and a compliment does not imply that others of the recipient's race are the opposite.  When a black man says, "Hey, nice car," I don't start yelling, "Hey, are you saying white folks usually have ugly cars?  You racist!"  I say, "Thanks!"

Uh, you guys missed the memo.

People of a pale persuasion are not allowed to make any type of comment about the Obomba, unless they hail from from Hollywood.

You need to keep up with the times.

Anyone else see the irony in Bush calling someone articulate?

Perhaps he should have said "He's a real credit to his race" instead.

Yeah.  I had to laugh about that one.  Bush being associated with the word 'articulate' is just wrong.  At the same time I had to be ashamed of the obvious racists remarks he made.  I would sue if I were the Obomba.

How dare a man of pale persuasion make a comment about someone who is not of pale persuasion.  I am so outraged, I think I will eat a Snicker's bar.

Don't we admire most in others that which we lack ourselves?  Anyway, this is crazy.  If you diss Obama you're a racist; if you compliment him you're a racist (regardless of party affiliation, or so it would seem from Sen. Biden's remarks last week; at least it's a non-partisan offense).  Has it ever occured to some people to give people the benefit of the doubt and just take what someone says at face value?  If Bush is so racist, why does he have the most racially diverse cabnet in US history?  Why has he bucked not only his own party, but the entire nation in pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens?  How about looking at actions, instead of trying to divine hidden meaning in a compliment?

Biden beat bush to the draw on the day Biden announced for the Presidency on Jan 31, IIRC.

Quote
In his latest effort, Biden wasted no time subverting his already microscopic chances. On the day of his announcement, he mused about Illinois Sen. Obama: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."

Just keeping the timeline straight. Someone has to hold these dang Republicans like Biden from picking on Obama!
