How many of you only drink scotch? If you do what brand do you prefer, what size bottle do you normally buy, what's the price in your area and how do you prefer to enjoy it?

I drink Johnnie Walker Black with ice and a splash of water to activate the taste. A 1.75 Litres bottle goes for about $63 down here in Charleston S.C.

Im a Glenlivet and Macallan fan. I prefer it with one or two melted icecubes depending on size of icecubes and ammount in glass.

Size of bottles is usually one liter, or 0,7.

my favorite whiskey is jameson irish whiskey the 12 yr old is very good but the 18 yr old is superb. my favorite scotch whiskey is usqueabach. it is a blended whiskey but I prefer it to the single malts any day.

having typed all that I'd rather have maker's mark. bourbon whiskey is a mighty fine sipping whiskey and you'll be hard pressed to do better than maker's mark in my opinion.

Glenlivit is good stuff, but I prefer Aberlour. Tastes better and less expensive. Aberlour a'bundah is the shizznik.

My dad just uncovered a bottle of makers mark in his basement from 1955. I cant really find a web site that would put a dollar value on that but I offered my old man 100 bucks for it, cash on the barrell head. (maybe it was wild turkey???). i wanted to see if it would taste like fine aged whiskey or rubbing alcoho.

right now at this moment i drink "Old Keeper old Scotch Whiskey"
with or without ice, it taste ugly, only 3 years old ;*p

actually Glenfiddich is something i like, or a Dalmore Cigar Malt
with a big cigar, even i'm a non smoker.

It would taste like 4 year old bourbon. Spirits do not age in the bottle. Aging only occurs in wood.

Glenlivet and Aberlour are the same company (along with Scapa, Ballantines, a whole mess of other scotches, Pernod, Ricard, Seagrams, Jim Beam, and Wild Turkey).

Different distilleries though.
I'm currently working on a 14-year cask strength Glenlivet bottle I picked up at the Aberlour distillery in December. I was too cheap for the single-cask Aberlour.

1955 maker's should be fun, but once it's sealed in the bottle, it doesn't age. You need the oak barrels for that.

The first bottle of Maker's Mark was sold in 1958 and featured the dipped red wax seal.

If you've got one of the first, I'd think some Maker's Mark devotee would pay big time for that.
