How do you feel about Nancy Pelosi jet setting across the friendly skies in an over the top B757, when the G-III she was offered would more than suffice?

politicians opt out of social security... they ride around in limmos.. they are protected 24 hrs a day by sub machine gun toting bodyguards.

they have nothing to do with the laws that they pass for us little people to live by.

I would imagine that they don't wear their seatbelts while being driven around either.

She requested nothing at all. Her staff made an inquiry into the "ride plan" that Hester had since 9/11, and asked about a plane that could make the flight to California non-stop. Republicans took this request and blew it completely out of proportion.

I think that she could fly commercial and Hastert should have as well, but I have been told by many that this is the post 9/11 world and that I just dont get it.

Hastert got his own plane post 9/11 for security purposes, so states the article I read.

Non stop is more secure than refueling, so I guess in this era of mitigating all risk no matter what the cost, she needs the big plane.

This is 89th MAW; they can refuel at any military facility. I don't think that's too much of a security risk.

Further, she'll probably get the C-37A/Gulfstream 5 which will make it to SF no problemo. IF it's available; the 99th AS has 4 of them at Andrews.

Not just yet, I'm afraid.

I'll wait a bit and see if any more details on the request by Pelosi's staff surface, I think.

It could be a Republican smear/talking point, granted. Wouldn't surprise me.

Nor would I be suprised in the least if a Limo Liberal from SF felt she was entitled to special treatment for herself and her many friends.

Let's let it stew a week and see what rises to the top. Then maybe you'll get an apology. Or maybe not. (Although it's unclear to me why I should apologize; are you against being curious about this stuff?)
