Special perked ordinance
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:14:41 AM »
jUst an idea i got from hearing the new 'perked weapons' idea being possibly added to AH in '2 weeks' lol,

But i thought, why don't we hve some perked ordinance too?

first ideas,

the Avro Lancatser was modified to carry 'tall boys' (12'000lb bomb) 'Grandslams' (24,000lb bomb!) and bouncing bombs.

These are jsut a few off hand and im sure there may be many tohers,

You may ask , what's the piont in 24 or 12 thousand pound bombs,

well, for a town, the shock wave would probably take don a whole town, during testing the 'grandslam' left a 300ft wide and 130ft deep crater.
Could aslo be good for dropping on a pad and taking out all hangers on that pad.

with the 'tall boy', it could be used for v bases' hangars.

Things like the bouncing bomb would make bombing more intersting.

i would think that  the grandslam would be about 20 perks in price,
the tall boy 10

Thisn is just an idea though.

while i want those two bombs i think the cost, at least for the 24000lb bomb should be between 80-100 perks, and only 1 plane in the formation would carry them.

20 perks is far too low, and would mean EVERYONE will be dropping them like crazy for months on end.

however modeling the bomb would be "cool" it would have to be dropped from high alt, ie wont arm for lets say 18000ft, because it had to spin up to bury itsself etc. This would also stop suiciders bombing CV's

Its the same as the nuke idea.  Our targets are only so big. Theres only just so much to destroy before it becomes overkill.

What we need is the Chrono-bomb. This bomb detonates over a damaged field and extends the rebuild time of 10 minutes, to 20 minutes downtime. However, the town has to be flat in order for it to take effect on the base structures.

I'd like to see all bomber formations perked.

suppose you want them without bombs too?

if you did that, you would have to allow the oposite direction too... ie pay extra for more formations.

B-29 :noid

No need for a bouncing bomb as it was used for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only. Do we have dams in AH2 ?

+ there would be no way I'd pay 100 perks for a 24,000 pound bomb !

Perking ord is the baddest idea that i've read.

I'll be often seen in a Ki-61 sending buff formations down.   Not too difficult really.

Check my stats.. see how much i fly an LA.. any LA...
In fact, you probably should have done that before you made an assumption on what and how i fly.

I just think bombing, and defending the formation is too easy, even when i'm the one bombing.
Since i do like flying bombers from time to time, and have alot of perks sitting there doing nothing, it would at least be something to spend them on.

I also think it would be cool if when the real hardcore buff guys ran there missions, they flew without drones once in a while.
It would be kind of interesting to see 15 single bombers formed up in a tight box to protect eachother, while at the same time carpet bombing a field.
Anyone can take down 3 fighter hangers and a vh with 2 passes on a small field, by themselves. To me, it's kind of funny.

... now if they were to add the tallboy/grandslam.  they would have to be between 100-200 perks, and like someone in the beginning said, should only be on one plane, even if you had a formation.

Not for a throw away item which can destroy a whole town just by one drop. There are many people in this game with literally thousands of bomber perks at hand. Want that special BOOM? Pay that special price ... ;)
