This is a wierd one.
Last night, I tried to send a text message that resulted in a string of kkkkkkkkk.  It was like the keyboard was stuck.  At about the same time, I noticed a tendency for my elevator trim to be wacky - either down or up.  I would have to go on autopilot to correct, then come off to CT.  Then just a few minutes ago, I tried loging on.  The player ID started scrolling kkkkkkkkk again!

Pretty strange.  I have no idea if the two are related, and sure don't know what to do about it.  And to add to it, I can't get the padlock to kick in either.  I may just be doing that wrong, but the other problems are of unkown origin.

Anyone else seen this or have any idea how to correct the problem??

Thanks,

LOL - not stupid at all Snafu!
But its not the problem either unfortunately. Wish it was.  Strangest thing I've seen in sim yet.  I may uninstall and reinstall, as big a pain as it is (to reset all views).  But I'm desperate... I can't get in to fly as it is!!

Thanks for the response!

T-bone

I've had that problem on 2 occasions.  I've been flying and then my keyboard starts acting funny.  Constant key presses..keys doing completely different things (hit shift and it enters).

It's a rare problem for me but may be similar or maybe not to your problem.  In the past I've simply rebooted and let win98 start back up after a hard boot.  The keyboard then "reintialized" and all was ok.

Well, Wingnut, at least I'm not the only one that's seen something like this.

I've tried a hard reboot, and tried the shift while this kkkkkkkkkk thing is happening in the game ID when trying to log-in.  I can change the case of the kkkkkk to KKKKKK, but can't stop it.  It just scrolls for a while and kicks me back to desktop.

I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game.  Same things happening.  Not a happy camper on this end.

Thanks for the suggestion in any event!

Have you checked your HOTAS programming? I have that on occasion when one of my trims on the X36 throttle rotor wheel is not centered in the neutral position.

I jumped on here to post that I'd found the problem, and saw your post Eagler.  You were right on the money - it was the number one rotary (programmed for elevator trim). Should have put the kkkkkk and the bizarre elevator jumps together sooner.

I appreciate your help fellas!

WTG Tbone. Glad I could help. BTW - I have the rotors broke into three zone's so I have a dead zone in the middle of each to use to center the control with zero input. The new combat trim light helps me to remember to check them when I come out of auto pilot.

Yep, have a deadzone inbetween inputs on both rotaries too.

Again, thanks for the suggestions!
