It would be to have an option that disallows .p's from any player not on your side.

Because some people just have no class.  :(

(Edit -> I mean a GUI or dot command option that I can select, that disables them for me personally, and not for the game or arena as a whole. I'm sure some people have legitimate and valid reasons to allow private messaging across sides. )

How many times HAS that been asked for? I think it's beating the B-29 requests by now. :D
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Raptor that's what I do now.

But getting that stupid pm in the first place is just such a killjoy in the true sense of the word that I'd really just rather never have been subjected to it in the first place.

It's stupid, really that someone elses (so obvious) poor sportsmanship can affect my enjoyment of the game - but I've been simming online since the 2.00 an hour days, and I mentally imagine the guys I fly with and against as gentlemen - and as stupid as it is it's always a shock when it's so graphically proven otherwise.

That unexpected pm is like getting a bucket of water dumped on you unexpectedly - and .squelch is like having a towel, when what you really would prefer is to not be wet in the first place.

While the occasional .p RANT can be annoying, you aren't likely to see your wish come true. You do have a couple of options at your disposal:
1. Just ignore it. The surest way to encourage more PM's is to reply to the 1st one.

2. If the PM's are vulgar, profane or continuous in an annoying manner, right click the offending players name on the roster and log a report for text, or chat if you're lucky enough to have this moron voxing you privately.

3. Take a screenshot and send it to support@hitechcreations.com

Good luck.

If you've been simming for that long you should already know better than let other spoil your fun with any kind of stupidity. I've developed a permanent squelch in my head and just ignore those clowns. Unfortunately, thats how some of those clowns "have fun" and it is there $15. Of course I don't know how much fun they have trying to bother me  :)

Just ignore them. If you don't respond its just words in the text buffer. They will soon learn you are'nt one to bother trying to argue with and find another target.

Actually, I have to say that this is the first time in all the time I've been simming online where I've had enough of the private messaging cr** to feel "Enough, this is just rediculous - just give me the option to block it all."

WB's had it's occasional open channel rant, it's true, and I even had a few directed at me over the years - but in total even those were relatively rare.  In 2 months of play in AH I've been on the recieving end of more private message "smack talk" from other pilots than I remember in 5 or more years of regular 40 hours a month WB's play. And WWIIOL (*as I recall, it's been almost a year since I flew regularly) didn't allow it, so it wasn't an issue.

I (personally) just think that it's unnecessary (and find it detracts significantly from my enjoyment of the game each time it happens) that I should have to squelch each moron individually as he (or she I suppose) proves what a poor sport he is.

And I think that it's even more unnecessary to leave new players who are just starting an already extremely daunting learning curve open to similar abuse, which seems very commonplace.

And with respect to reporting it, nothing that's been pm'ed was bad enough that I'd be inclined to report it - it was all just in bad taste and "left a bad taste".

Anyway,  If I could change only one thing - this would be it.

I think this is a valid arguement for why we should have some type of option either the  squelch all other countrys PM's  or a permasquelch list........

if new players just joining and learning the game, this PM crapola will rub off on them and the cycle continues.........

and it should be set to ON ( or   1 )  by default.if a player wants to receive PM's ingame then he can switch it to allow them.......just like stall limiter enabled....

All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

I really really like this idea.

Im using PMs in game a lot... not only to converse with people on MY team. Id hate to loose that contact, as it is a huge part of what I play this game for.

But a "PM permission" that could be toggled would really be awesome.

Would be nice to get a perma squelch list, well other than writing their name on a paper tacked to the wall ;)
