Peabody's latest and best movie

My newest and best movie is entitled "The Bougainville Sasparilla Slaughter of 2006".

I don't know... I mean you clearly went to a lot of trouble to put it together, but it's just not my style. I'm not saying all films about AH have to have music tracks and mindless killing, but I think this one has too much talk not enough action.

Thanks for the frank evalutation. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I chose this mission to see what could be done with a storyline instead of concentrating on just action shots. Maybe I'm in a minority preferring storyline. I hope some more folks give comments.

Did my server give you reasonable download speeds?

1:  Film quality was poor for me.  I have a broadband connection so I wouldn't mind a higher resolution film to download.

2:  Storyline was stretched a bit too long.  During the action scenes, I was interested and entertained, but bored for at least half the film.

3:  I did like the way you froze the screen to show still images, and your point of view shots.  You told the story well during the action scenes by video alone, audio commentary was a plus during the action scenes.

4:  Voice overs were done in a good way.  Script about the ice cream didn't keep me interested, it kept me bored.

5:  What do I get out of watching this film?

6:  Pace was slow for me, but then again, I have a problem with attention.

7:  Overall I think it was very cool of you to create something from that sortie.  Action scenes were good, cut everything else out.

8.  I like'd the google earth clips.  Helped me out with the geography thing.

DL speeds were decent, but not the best.

I agree with Kermit on quality. I also did not like the resolution. I'm on broadband as well, and it was pixelated when looking at plane wings and objects and so forth. This is something that some folks might mind and others might not.

Ok so i may say it ....

Quality : poor (thanks you indicated by voice the values from the gaugers    and the planes ID)

Too much talk (do not forget we do know what's about )

The explanations (the strategies) : if a new player will watch your movie he will HO at the first merge (...that P47).

Btw are you using original sounds or sound pack?

Sound doesn't get transfered when exporting from AH films. If using FRAPs there's a problem where the film viewer often won't play all the sounds associated with the plane you're in.

Chances are all the sounds were edited in afterwards.

You can record sound with Fraps but have to check the box... I don't use it much as alot of time when you get good footage you also get about 30 people all talking and then you have to edit it all out...


As for the film... not my style but I will not take away your thunder as you did put some time into it.  I know how long it takes to do these and it becomes hassle sometimes to get the perfect shot for your film...

I continue learning as I do these things, and your observations do contribute. I appreciate all comments.

I'm not going to abandon my theory that "some movies should have storylines and none should use copyrighted music".

But next time I'll try to keep things moving faster.

And as for resolution... it's a trade-off with server bandwidth and download times. Maybe I'll upload a less-compressed version next time, but it's expensive in both of those terms.

All of the sounds were edited in after-the-fact.

Hi there Peabody, I enjoyed this last film, I got a file with quite a few of your films. They give you that feel we all had when first taking a sim aircraft off the ground to do combat. For folks considering watching this, if you enjoyed the history channels "Dogfights" show you will like this.
