Where did old threads went to from last year, 'cause I wanted to read some of them.

they are still there, but if you had them bookmarked, you will have to update them.

How do I update them if I booked marked one?

Open a new browser window with any current thread.
Then open the old thread (in the first browser window), go to the adress bar and copy the threadID number. Paste it into the adress of the new thread (adress bar), then hit ENTER key to reload the thread.

Depends on a browser, but for majority right click on the bookmark -> select properties, then edit the link.
