Leaving Soon...
« on: February 14, 2007, 02:57:13 PM »
Hey to all that know me...  I' am sad to say I have to close my account for a little while, for I' am one of the lucky one's getting ready to deploy to the Sand box.  I will be leaving in May and been busy doing my training and getting ready to go to NTC for those where in the Army.  I will try and keep active before and while I' am gone on the BB's.  It's been a pleasure flyng with everyone since I've started way back in 1996 in AWC til the present.

Hope your training goes a lot better than mine did (desert warfare training, Ft. McCoy, WI, Dec-Feb.... ice, snow, -40 degrees F, and DCU's....joy....) safe flight, have a safe tour, and get back home.

If you don't get the chance to check back in;  Don't forget earplugs for the long...16+_ hours... flight if headed to Kuwait.  Maybe sleeping pill.  Blindfold or similar.

Or, if like me and can't sleep on plane, iPod with tunes and extra batt packs. Deck of cards.  Good book.  That is a long, mind-numbing, trip.

Toss up whether chartered commercial plane or USAF transport is better.  Seats in USAF plane suk.... but I've had comfortable flight laid out on top of the cargo before....  Black fleece from ECWCS helps.
