Salvia the "new" legal pot
« on: February 15, 2007, 04:26:49 PM »
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_divinorum

anyone here have any personal experience with it?

the local news did a story on it last night, and how it is widely available, and is legal in almost every state. supposedly there is a grass-root campaign to make it illegal by the parents of a boy who committed suicide either while on it, or after doing it.

either way, the local news went to a local smoke shop, and for $3 bought some of it.

I had never heard of it, but supposedly it is making the rounds on the internet too.

just a fast google search found these:
this video is best example (language in the video)

if you didn't know about it, well here you go, if you do know about it, whats your thoughts?

It’s a hallucinogen. Once you have a ‘vision’ that lasts less than 5 minutes, other than slight headache with some people, there is no other following symptoms. It is not legal weed since no one can get high of of it.

Also, after one time, to get another vision, it requires about a month....

here's another big time trip on it..

I don't know about the next pot, thats just what the news called it, and I don't really have much knowledge or information to give it a true classification honestly.

it does look like dangerous stuff, but watching these, the "high" sure seems to be short lived. on the news they made it sound like it was a long-term thing, like a long pot buzz.

if it lasted 3 hours or more I would definitely think there would be some concern, but as for the whole driving while on it, it sure seems anyone tripping would be able to start the car anyway and by the time they did the buzz would be gone.

Found old post about it in my blog.

Quote
Since, I’ve never done any drugs before….this was something very new to me. Anyhow, this person described me how to operate this humongous “machine”…..and I tried it out. After breading in, the effect came after a slight delay of 15-30 seconds. (I was sitting with back resting on a wall) The next thing I notice was walls were tearing and pieces falling down. As it was happening I was starting to fall down. I thought to my self – “ WTF…where am I? This can’t happen to me, this is not real” I was almost on an edge between falling down and not, while my body sort of felt deformed. As room kept tearing, I saw AF guys walking away from my kitchen, and I felt as they were leaving me behind. I wanted them to be with me, but I could not follow them since I was busy from falling down into abyss. Next thing I noticed was a glue like tubular substance which was like a sun rays of light coming into a room. They were both on a ceiling and ground, and one of the lines were touching my leg…which I felt. Anyhow after observing all this weird ****, I returned to real world. Experience points gained....and no more drugs for me....

That's the place for drug information.  I've heard it's extremely bitter when brewed as tea and the effects are better when mixed with pot.  It's surprisingly not a big deal in my school considering it's a legal hallucinogen.  Kids these days would rather pay $15 for entrance to a hookah...house?

college?

curious where.

now I am not taking what the local news said for word, but they sure made it sound like every HS / college kid in America knows about this "secret" drug and are tripping balls all day long. I assumed as much it isn't a "nationwide epidemic"  or anything near that, but it definitely sounds like it is on the rise.

I'd like to know how cheap it is compared to other "drugs" as it sure seems the high is very short lived, at le3ast in those videos I watched. a few minutes at best, with the laughing lasting a bit longer once they sober up.

High school.  According to that website, the effects depend on how it's ingested and how much.  It also said it runs $50-100 per ounce.  I only know of 2 kids who have so much as talked about salvia, my best friend and another guy in my chemistry class, although I'm sure it has more recognition, I'm just not that popular or into drugs.

Since I haven't ever smoked, I'm going to venture a guess that pot is more widely available, hell my friend's dad grows the stuff so there you are.
