Hello and welcome to 1970.

That was the first time I saw a Salvia ad in a magazine. It's harmless and as stated earlier gives you a weak buzz for about 5 minutes if you smoke a buttload of it.

Seems you have been a victim of "OMG YOU WILL DIE IF YOU DON'T WATCH OUR GROUNDBREAKING REPORT TONIGHT AT 10!!!!" sweeps ratings period local news reporting.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Whoever called this the "new" legal pot has been living under a rock for awhile...  Or just doesn't bother with stuff like this in the first place.

I tried it probably four or five years ago.  I'm sure it was out decades before that.

Bottom line?  It's legal for a reason.  Not worth your dime.  Buy a 30-rack and have fun with that instead.

the local news did a story on it last night, and how it is widely available, and is legal in almost every state. supposedly there is a grass-root campaign to make it illegal by the parents of a boy who committed suicide either while on it, or after doing it.

either way, the local news went to a local smoke shop, and for $3 bought some of it.

I had never heard of it, but supposedly it is making the rounds on the internet too.

just a fast google search found these:
this video is best example (language in the video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVJFiZ4WvHw

if you didn't know about it, well here you go, if you do know about it, whats your thoughts?

It`s far from "new." Been around forever and used forever.
I have used it and it produces a very relaxation type effect. "High" if you must.
There are many different types and strengths vary from one to the other. Most people who get it haven`t got a clue how to use it.....so you get statements like the above that it isn`t worth a dime and so on.
The key is a water pipe for most sold to the public. It releases more active ingredients.
I used it for a while when I  was having severe muscle spasms due to neck injury and the Soma just wasn`t making the grade at bed time. My doc was the one who suggested it in a round to bout way. Imagine that.  Yes I did inhale. :)
If someone commited suicide while using it ...they would have done the same chewing Doublemint gum.
A Xanax nibbling, Valium popping society gets up in arms and says "Let`s make a law." Wheeeeeeeeeeeew doggies. Gotta luv it. :)

Since, I’ve never done any drugs before….this was something very new to me. Anyhow, this person described me how to operate this humongous “machine”…..and I tried it out. After breading in, the effect came after a slight delay of 15-30 seconds. (I was sitting with back resting on a wall) The next thing I notice was walls were tearing and pieces falling down. As it was happening I was starting to fall down. I thought to my self – “ WTF…where am I? This can’t happen to me, this is not real” I was almost on an edge between falling down and not, while my body sort of felt deformed. As room kept tearing, I saw AF guys walking away from my kitchen, and I felt as they were leaving me behind. I wanted them to be with me, but I could not follow them since I was busy from falling down into abyss. Next thing I noticed was a glue like tubular substance which was like a sun rays of light coming into a room. They were both on a ceiling and ground, and one of the lines were touching my leg…which I felt. Anyhow after observing all this weird ****, I returned to real world. Experience points gained....and no more drugs for me....

Saw a guy once at a run standing around a fire crying and sobbing like there was no sun coming the next day. He was asked what the prob was and he stated he was having a Nam flashback.
Talked to his mother a few days later and brought the incident up. She was hysterical with laughter for a bit, then told me that he had never even been in the military. :)

no not at all but that you for the insult anyway.

re-read my post, and you will see I doubt highly what the "news" says, and looked it up myself, and asked for the opinions of the oclub here.

many ignorant, naive kids play with substances that they know nothing about.  sometimes there are major regrets and lifelong mental issues that result.

The experience vault at EROWID is, more or less, a harm reduction information site about various drugs, both natural and synthesized.  You should have a fear of taking unkown drugs.  I strongly advise against it.  it is not only harmful to the substance abuser, but also harmful to the people around them.  But I recognise that some people will seek it out and do it anyway.  For them, and you know who are, educate yourself:

http://www.erowid.org/

search "Salvia"  and note that there are a couple different species under the genus Salvia - another potentially dangerous thing to consider when taking things you know nothing about.

It wasn't an insult. Did you tune in and watch the report? If so, the TV won. They could care less if you believe what they said, they just want you to tune in.
