Thought this sort of stuff was in the past?
« Reply #15 on: February 19, 2007, 03:03:34 PM »
I was the one that  made the orders for the allied side.stoney, the only minimum we were given was on the hurricane,i think we covered that.and we had no seafires to pick,we were given the sea hurricane, but the factory wasnt ready on that one.lol

sorry to the dammed for the slaughter.my plan was to run our squad over 35 to drag the cover away just long enough for the dammed to get a good drop.i expected more dammed than 5 but it didnt happen.what was left of my squad would then push to 29 and hit anything befor +60.then the defence from the cv would rearm and hit 35 and 29.if i was to send us with escort it would have taken alot away from our defence,so i took a chance.

we got slaughtered as well and it did suck.my offence plan was not very good, but the defence did a great job

one thing id like to point out.when we started the carrier was in the far south west on a small patrol to the east.we were told we would be given command but were not asked where we wanted to put the carrier.i decided the carrier was fine where it was so i never took command of it.15 minutes into the frame i looked again and the carrier was replaced in  the east(on the front line)headed west.now i know i should have watched it more closely, but why was it moved to a new location?who moved it?its not like someone took control and sent it on a bad course,it was moved more than a grid from where it started.without a doubt it made the attack on the cv alot easier and gave the defence no time to counter the attack.

definately not my best planned frame so far,but the numbers dont look so bad.im hoping its not the total slaughter it seemed to be.wheres the final score?

also...it was in the orders to make shure you drop ord away from the base.

and im not clear if 4x is saying  im new at this?but just so you know this is the 5th time ive planned it and the 9th time our squad did it.just be glad we didnt break any "unwritten rules"this time.I know how to stomp the enemy,as ive shown in the past.but everyone complains that its not fair that way.so i ran it nice and even for everyone.(except for us and the dammed)

and no,the bombers didnt ask for escort,we were the bombers and we chose to risk it.

Nothing specific to this frame, but that is THE funniest line I've read about FSOs in a while!

Sqwigly,

<> Bro you did a great Job. :aok :aok
You are correct sir in the TG's course. That 8-12 to 9-12 heading was originally placed by me as Setup CM. After launch I IMMEDIATELY enabled the Allied side to have control, and that is where my "responsibility" is supposed to end.
When you Pm'd me in the frame, it seemed as though there was some confusion about TG placement, and I was worried that the problem may have been on my end. I must assume that no matter where the CV is headed, if it changes course someone had to have done it. If you needed it in a specific place you create the waypoints and send it on its way. It seemed as if we spent some time trying to figure that out. In hindsight, what I should have done was have you tune to CM VOX, and I think that was my fault. I also assumed wrongly that it was Bannor who was lead on the Allied side, and was wondering " Who's this Sqwigly guy....and why is he the one asking questions about the TG?"....
It will take me a little while to get to know each and every one of you that actively participate in FSO. Please be patient with me.

I do apologize if my post was in any way offensive.. I assure you it was not meant that way at all.  I tried to write it with a little humor in it...
After all, that was my FIRST FSO Hosting, and I know that I was not even close to getting it right.
As I said before, I think you did a great job and I will look forward to working with you again in upcoming FSO's.

Some things I saw from my end:

1.Get your guys there (SEA) EARLY, and make sure their in uniform, ready to go at launch. Preparation Preparation Preparation. If your over or under your squads limit for pilots.... ask for help!!

I wish, always the last minute arrivals, followed by "So what are we doing what are we taking, loadout, skin, which runway. Where we going?

I know this goes on in just bout every squad.

we just upped out numbers again to 16-21, since we were overflowin the last two weeks, so that means only 10 will show for the next event.
