I just did the drive from here to Tempe across the Mojave and I thought XM was the shiznit.

Sirius music is commercial free. The talk channels are not. That said the breaks on the Stern show are very short and few between.


Was a fan of Sterns since the 80's, butt bongo feista and such, channel 9 local TV had his TV show on.  He was great until he got to K-Rock 92.3.

Then it became all self serving to Howard, nothing but naked lesbians and strippers, well ya can't see it on the radio. So how entertaining is that.

When i first heard Opie and Anthony with jim Norton, I thought this was how Howard used to be.

Now Howard is about Howard, he invented everything boohoo hoo ain't right Robin.

I wonder if there will end up being a common receiver system or if both brands will just get the same programming.

It is not like the subscription fees are very much, just a few dollars a month. Pocket change for most.

I have it for a few reasons. One, I commute maybe 35-40 minutes each day & go through an area where you can not get good radio reception. Also, normal radio has 35% commercials. If I broke it down to how much I paid per hour, it can't be very much.

I figured it was a matter of time before they merged.  One had this performer, another had this one...its kinda like buying game consoles!  Having two stations may make the anti-monopoly people feel at ease....but Id hate to subscribe to one service, only to find out there's some programming you'd like the other offers.

Seems to be the consumer will win just based on the windfall of selections.
