Ever gotten help you didnt expect?
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:08:37 PM »
Once upon a time (starting it like this means it could be ficticious), I had assisted in foiling a base capture and in the process had won the CH200 affections of a moderately skilled player. A brief battle of wits insued & I felt I had won there also.

My new found admirer was of the persistant persuasion though, he continued to rant and rave about my just being lucky in killing him and a couple of his fellow attackers. I wanted to know myself If I was indeed just "lucky" so, I promptly asked where his next sortie was going to be, as his attack had lost momentum & it was unlikely he would return there. He refused to disclose his location or next attack point, which didnt really surprise me.

I had given up on actually finding him when I got a PM, I noticed the bright text as it appeared on screen but was surprised when I focused on the text. It wasn't from the player I had been talking with on 200,  It was from a coutryman of his, that didnt like his attitude or personality.  This 3rd party gave me the necessary info to find my admirer & I killed the guy in all 3 of his next sorties, and also several of his wingmen.  It was one of the best flights I ever had.

I dont recall any of the names involved, maybe it was just a great dream:aok

I've spied on plenty of sweetheartbags. If you need to find someone, just send me a PM. Sometimes, headhunting is fun. ;)

Reminds me of the time Nomde came back from his long absence.   Upon log in, we were winging and Pistol kept flapping his gums on 200 after HO'ing continuously.   His countrymates were getting hung out to dry because he'd run.   Well, it wasn't long before a countrymate of his was PM'ing me, Nomde and I were right there everytime he moved.  :rofl

Ever gotten help you didnt expect?

I have had people offer yes, a squadie who was playing different country said, hey, u guys want to know this or that?

Also this player flying in my mission, who had a squady on different country said, if you want to know this or that.

Then once a countryman said on local vox 'We've just intercepted a bish radio transmission and they are going to attack such n such" (which is a cutsie way of saying we are cheating and making it sound historicly accurate)

It is a personal decision on how you want to handle that information, it's nothing new to the game.  It really doesn't make you anything special to cheat either IMO.

Personally I won't do it, participate with it, or tolerate it in my squad.   They can go fly for another squad that goes for that, there are plenty of them....I take it Nazgul is recruiting guys like that?

I think in the long run you will find the game more enjoyable if you just play is straight.

Hunting is an artform, one that takes skill and dedication.

basically, what youre saying is you would get satisfaction from shooting a Lion that has been released in the area just hours before for you, the rich white man, to shoot and feel like a hunter.

you're telling me that you get satisfaction from fishing in a lake that has been stocked with prime carp, all gormless and eager to eat your bait?

personally i would be hunting that lion with a partner and tracking him, out smarting him, not having him chained to a post and told exactly where he is.

i would be fishing in the open sea or a natural lake, where the prey is wary of the bait and it would be  'a hunt' as opposed to a boring turkey shoot.

you want to shoot smeone down bad enough? then you bloody well should earn it.

what satisfaction could you get from killing an enemy that is already at a loss due to the work of his team mates?

do you really feel you earned that kill?

nothing personal.

1) If you go around being an arse, someon will feel the need to wipe you, one way or another.

2) Cheating? Perhaps if my intent was to progress my sides warring effort, but I was simply interested in proving I wasnt just "lucky" to 1 particular individual.  So no I dont see it as cheating.

3) I'll help locate someone talking watermelon on 200 & hiding from the fight....  "If you gonna talk the talk- you gonna walk the walk"

4) I also frown on hiding CVs;)

Batfink your references to lion hunting would be more accurate if you were hunting a lion that was armed & claimed to know how to shoot his weapon, but was hiding from a shooting match with you.

Being fairly new to the game and short fused with people who are rude, I think this person got what he/she deserved.

Cheaters, spys and jerks should be ratted out by there fellow team mates IMHO.

I find it funny that via the internet/this game/this forum someone would say something to someone they wouldn't say to their face.  When this is the case I too would accept assistance in this form to abuse someone who deserves it.

Yes, hunting them down is nice, maybe even better, but just proving ones point is good enough. This is the very reason I don't tune to 200.

I play the game straight, avoid HO's and give check 6's when I am not too busy running like a chicken.

That's the way I spend my $15, you spend it the way you want to.

oDall--o has got to be the biggest arsewhipe in the game.  I wish he would find another plane to run in, so as not to give a bad name to the rest of us fighting Dora pilots.

One time he augered into my panzer and sends me a PM, "Learn how to fly noob."

One more time,  He Augered into my Panzer and....  Well I'm sure everyone has seen his antics in action.  Worst part is he is horrible in the air. You think someone who enjoys smack talking so much would at least try to improve his game play.

Ok I feel better now.  Don't usually post like this, could be the speeding ticket I got this AM.  Carry on.

Yeah, except the lion is another hunter, and he, by his own admission, is better, smarter, more skilled, and far more dangerous, even though he continues to either sit in the tower or keep running away. Actually, the lion analogy doesn't work at all.
