« on: February 22, 2007, 04:41:42 PM »
What can you do after you bail? Can anything pick you up from where you are by landing? What is the Fastest prop plane? What is the best way to get attack pointes to get new planes fast?

a) You can wander around and try to find something to shoot your .45 at. But usually it's a waste of time. Get back to tower and up a new plane!

b) No pick up possible

c) Fastest prop plane <10k feet: Tempest. Fastest unperked (=free) plane at that altitude is La-7.
At 10-25k it's the Bf 109K, above 25k the P47N

d) I think you are talking about "perk points" that you have to use to fly planes like the Me 262.
Look at the ENY rating when selecting plane in hangar. A higher ENY value means that you will get more points if getting kills when flying in that plane. Best way to get perks is to take a plane with resonable high ENY (for example P38G, Spit IX, C 205 ect.) and shoot down planes with low ENY values (like the La7 or Spit XVI). Landing your kills will get you a considerable bonus.

But please don't think that "free" planes are crap or that flying a perked ride (=plane that did cost you some points) will let you dominate the skies...

Most people don't even bother to open their chute. Either drop to your death  :) or type .ef in the radio bar to end flight before you hit the ground, or click on end flight on the clip board before you hit the ground.

Fastest isn't always best. Sure you can run from everything, or chase anything down, but once you catch someone they will do a quick zig and a zag which the "fastest" plane will have trouble doing and then where are ya?

Most new planes are free, just end your flight and grab a new one. The "perked" rides are more of a novelty than anything else. Sure some are great planes .... F4U-1C is a sweet ride...., but they also draw a lot of attention, and the bad guys work extra hard to shoot them down.

Best thing to do is fly a spit 9 or 16 till you get the hang of things, have some fun!
