Yup,

We were talking about this at work today and I wondered what it would be like to get one of the Bush daughters in one of my flights.  Would the secret servic have to be there all the time?

I admire the british royalty, they have almost allways seemed to have served.

Was checking my family tree. Grows very interesting far back ;)

anyway Harry:
:aok
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Its not the Prince Harry wants to fight so badly...

Its that he'll go anywhere (even Iraq) to get out of the craphole called England.

"Bloody hell, this Iraq place is a paradise compared to London!"

Eh?

London is a fantastic city.  When was the last time you were there?

He's probably joking, but then again with all the gun crime in London these days not to mention all the terrorism. Maybe it's safer in Basra. ;)

But Kudos to him for going. He won't be the first warrior Prince Henry, although maybe the last. The Blues and Royals may look like Toy Soldiers outside Buckingham Palace but they are an elite regiment.

The Scimitar may not be the most heavily armoured piece of kit in the British army but it sure is safer from IED's than the bloody Landrovers the rest of them are stuck with.

Meanwhile the heir to the throne, Prince William, won't be anywhere near a war zone. He will do his time in the army and then the RN and the RAF, where hopefully he will be a better pilot than his Father.

Seeing the responses on this post I recognise my post seems a bit callous.

I do find Prince Harry's attitude to be very impressive and commendable.

I guess I'm using a double standard, but I don't think a guy like that should be anywhere near combat....for one I think it puts places undue danger among his soldiers, but also because I'd think England needs him more elsewhere.  Guy like that has been trained and groomed for diplomacy and things like that, not driving around a tank in a war zone.

As far as Prince Andrew fighting in the Fauklands, well, a bit different I think.  Launching of a carrier in a plane he would have a great deal of annonymity(sp), whereas Harry in a tank would easily be found out by a network of spies and could be singled out....and you know they would try.

'The Bush daughters should be sent to the war'

Always hated it when people said that.  Everyone in the armed services has volunteered.
