Prior to patch game ran fine, with only rare dumpage to the desktop. I have yet to fly at all since this latest patch. PLEASE HELP
system is:
Celeron 2 900
224 mb RAM
geforce 2mx @ 1024x768x16
aureal vortex2 sound card
15gig HD
Lucent PCI modem
all have latest drivers
running win98

Even tried reinstalling AH and video drivers, to no avail. Very frustrating.

Fuzzy, been hoping someone would post on this one, I have no clue whatesoever.  You don't run dual monitors or anything do you?  Have you tried running at lower res, and 16 bit color 'stead of 32?

Running single monitor. Running DX7a w/ fresh re-installation of it and video drivers. Lower esolutions do not change this behavior. I even played with AGP bios settings (ie, agp window, AGP mode, etc)I have tried what I believe to be EVERYTHING without success. Do the AH techs check this board regularly??

Fuzz, try playing with the video configs within the game, see if you can make it repeat what you did  in original crash with different combinations of resolution and color (ie. try 800X600 with 16 bit, if it doesn't crash, move up to 800X600 with 32 bit) until you can narrow it down to where the crash occurs, of course, if it crashes at ANY resolution, then I cannot help you..

UPDATE: Solved the problem, although I do not know why it exists. I lowered the clock speed on my CPU to 810 and it works perfectly w/o any problems. Weird. Anyway I'd like to send a shout out to HiTech Creations for their prompt and courteous replies to this thread...And thank you very much those of you that DID try to help!

AH likely hits the FPU section of your CPU harder than anything else you do.  That extra stress is causing stability issues for your chip at that speed I guess.

Running AH is obviously a good OC stability test.
