See the 1st part of your screenshot, you have to scroll to the right to see the displayed media. It isn't "natural", a lot of (older) folks will miss it.  WAI  etc...

The 1st part is the "you've disabled scripts" example, the 2nd part is the "your browser is working normally" example.

I try to keep the website as "light" and "plain vanilla" as possible so folks with dialup, or browsers other than IE, will still have a good experience when they go to the website.  But it's darn hard to accomodate all the flavours of browsers/configs that are out there.

So basically, if you don't allow any active content, yeah it's not going to look as nice.  But where I'm doing very basic stuff, I consider that to be more of a client issue (ie your choice) as opposed to a website issue.

Yeah it's a hobby site built for the average browser (for better or worse), IE.
