How does one disable acpi bios in win2000pro so the irq's can be set manually or to stop irq sharing.

During w2k setup press F5 when the setup asks you to press F6 (obvious isn't it)   :confused:

After doing that you will get a prompt where you can choose the hardware profile you want to install -> standard pc.

Finish install -> you have ACPI free w2k.

Once 2k is installed ACPI can't be turned off safely.  Honestly, with win2k it's better if you leave ACPI on ... if you can get good drivers for you system components.  ;)  ACPI has the big advantage of no IRQ limitations.  (Win2k and XP ACPI is TOTALLY different from win98 or me ACPI, which don't work well.)
