x52 mouse look
« on: March 04, 2007, 04:33:29 AM »
Howdy all went to play the game today and discovered my mouse on my x52 throttle doesnt work (for mouse look). I opened IL2 and it works fine in there, any thoughts on what may be going on here? I tried the shift+M+ thing and "de-selecting" the mouse look then re-selecting it still no dice

Do you have it programmed as a mouse in the SST software?  There should be a check box or drop down for function setting, if memory serves.
I personally never used it on mine, as it was little "quirky" to me, with my big hands, and I could never quite seem to get the hang of using it, and used banding to reprogram it as a four way hat.
Programmed as a mouse in SST, it should be recognized as a mouse by windows, which to my knowledge (anyone who knows better feel free to correct me) should allow it to function as a mouse in game.  In AH2, take a look in control mapping, and see if there is a listing along the lines of "HID compliant mouse" along with your normal mouse, and if there is, try mapping mouselook to it.

My best shot at it, but there are others here who know more about this than me, by quite a bit.

Thanx much but for some reason it started working again. Just as mysteriously as when it quit.
