AH won't recognize my new CH USB stick buttons
« on: December 07, 2001, 04:52:00 PM »
I just hooked up all new CH gear, Pro Pedals, Pro Throttle, and Fighterstick, all USB. Windows 2000 sees all of them, and all of their buttons. And I'm calibrated in Win2000. Now, when I go to AH, I finally figured out how to get my rudder and throttle to show up in the 'joystick selection' area, and I'm trying to assign all my buttons. I'm only able to program the buttons on the throttle. It isn't seeing the stick buttons for some reason. Is the stick on Set 2? How to I go about accessing this? Should a different LED light up on my stick? (There's 3 of them, I'm assuming to indicate what set I'm in?) Also, my views 'sort of' work, I can't get the 8-way hat to do anything besides the normal 4 views. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here ya go: http://www.hitechcreations.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=001340

All that stuff is for Win98.  I don't know if CH supports Win2000 or not.

Cool, I'll give that a try Funked. As far as CH and Win2000, all the boxes they ship with state that they work in Win2000, but the literature in the boxes which was printed ages ago says it's not. So far so good for me, although that Control Manager program doesn't seem to want to detect my stuff. I can add them to the list, but I can't do anything beyond that. With this setup of yours, do you have your stuff programmed thru AH or thru the Control Manager program?

Thanks a bunch

OK, I'm up to the point where I should calibrate in the Control Manager program, I wonder if it's not installed correctly, I know there was a trick to it, and I'm not 100% sure it complete correctly. When I activate the template and go to calibrate, I get the message..."There are no active devices" I'll try re-installing the Control Manager software again...

Cheesehead....I know it is frustrating getting the CH USB stuff going with AH, but it is great equipment for the game once you get it all figured out.  I, too, experienced some problems getting it all working (I run under Win98, however).  Don't recall everything I had to do, but I know it involved messing with the "axis" withing the control manager and AH.  I wish I had written it down so I could give a step by step, but you might want to look into the help file on the "axis"....I do recall having to program "something" with an axis that I didn't have to worry about with the old serial CH products equipment.

Hope this helps a little, and good luck.  It is worth it in the end.
