March 20th was last release date I saw.

Not sure that the next SH is out yet or not.  Going to be American subs in Pacific Theater, which looks like fun. "Wolves of the Pacific".

My current game machine is a XP Pro x64 OS, and even with patches and bypasses of the security and CD, I can't get it to run (luckily, my old Win2K server can still run it).

Sure wish they'd have stuck with Destroyer Command too though.   Buggy as all get out, but I've had some fun LAN games with SH and DC.... and I like the play of the Destroyers better than Subs anyways.

Dunno what all the fuss is about, I have virtual drives left right and centre , Daemon tools open and running etc. and yet starforce has caused me Zero, nil, nada,  none, not a sausage in the way of problems.
I have an early release copy of SHIII with Starforce included.
Not sure, but I think X3 may also have Starforce protection, it too works fine.

Not saying it's A OK for everyone, but be aware it doesnt cause problems for everyone either.
I wonder how many of those with major complaints about Starforce actually paid for a legal copy of the software it is protecting, and how many downloaded a ripped torrent.

It may be dependant on the brand/type of DVD player/burner you have too.

When I picked it up I just assumed that the Starforce garbage was all over. Like I said, I don't buy that many games. After closely scrutinizing the package after the fact there is tiny little yellow block of text on the back that says, "Note: This game contains technolgy to prevent copying that may conflict with some CD-RW, DVD-RW, and virtual drives."

It didn't look like an old copy that had been beating around on a shelf for awhile. There was also more than one copy. Oh well, lesson learned.

Once you get latest patch, download GWX (Great Wolves eXpension mod). It changes gameplay and makes it 100 times better than original. Highly recommended.
