Probably not the place for this kind of question but I figured others here may know the trick.  Logitech support wouldn't give me a clue.

I've removed all 5 screws from the base but cannot separate the top from the bottom.  I even loosened the 5 screws on the throttle collar.  No joy.

Why would I want to do this, you ask.  Dirty potentiometers need to be cleaned.

You wiseguys with megabucks don't need to tell me to buy a better stick.  Logitech sticks have always been sufficient for what I do.

Thanx.

I took mine apart once.  Be careful, as the buttons on the stick handle will probably fall out.  I can't remember exactly how many screws there were, but I do know those fancy screws at the base of the stick are just for show, they don't actually do anything.  I believe there were two or three screws in the stick part itself that had to be removed, then the stick splits in two.

There is a single potentiometer at the top of the stick support rod that has two flimsy wires hanging off from it.  (It's for the rudder axis.)  Those wires can either get kinked or twisted around the stick.  Have fun getting the pot to stay there while you put the stick back on too.  :)

Thanx for the tip.  Sounds like I'll have to tackle it on an especially mellow day.
