Re-arm 'clipboard'
« on: March 12, 2007, 10:00:41 PM »
I had a thought lastnight.

I saw a base flashing and I wanted to stage from there to get somewhere else for an attack. I up'd a Dora with a light fuel load to engage the fighter.

Long story short, I popped the n1k and was good to go. However, I took a light fuel load and need 100% + a DT to get where I wanted, fight and RTB.

Now, as soon as you get back on the Re-arm pad, you're only allowed to fill back up to whatever you took with you.

Would it be possible to perhaps bring up a 'load-out' list so that one could select '100% fuel' instead of 25%? ( or visa versa if you were low on fuel and only wanted to up with a lighter load instead of the 100% you started with?)

This seems like it would be a logical and make re-arming a more interactive process.

Cheers

That would be nice.  Maybe even the ability to switch ord load-outs.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

but might raise some probs... what about when ammo / fuel is down (now they're refueled in every case)?

Well, if that were the case and say ord and fuel were down... I would think it reasonable that it would be impossible to re-fuel to 100% (if at all) and same with the replacement of ordinance.

That would seem logical... late war German aircraft had to face such limitations, so it would seem historically accurate.

I would be happy to see this implimented, drawbacks and all.

I would also consider it reasonable to have no option load 'new' ordinance (IE, Ord that was not taken on the initial launch). Even if this new idea was only applicable to fuel and ammo, I think it would be a worthy addition to re-arming.

:)

Even if the 30 seconds was extended.... I don't expect my ground-crew to be a Formular 1 pit-crew or anything.... hahaha

Of course, this opens the discussion to the repair of damage on the runway..... which I do no think should be included on the list I have suggested... this seems to be too much.  I merely suggest a suppliment to what is already available at the existing re-arm.

Anyway!

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Regards

If a field has 125% fuel (100% + drops) and full ords, then I would have no problem with an option to change initial fuel + ammo load at the re-arm pad.  In fact, im very suprised we don't have this option yet.

However, I don't understand how we can rationale that someone who took off with 100% fuel plus drops, and a load out of rox and bombs, can regenerate these weapons at a field with porked ords and fuel.  It just doesnt make sense.

If HTC were to implement the "clipboard" option of re-arming, would giving up the unlimited ability to re-arm at porked fields, be a fair trade off?

I think so.  I think its the logical thing to do.
