How would you describe it...(Seriously)...I have a nut job Professor who has shot down every logical (or so I thought) response to this question during class today, and im curious to hear how other people would describe it.

A clash of civilizations occur when one group of people decide that it's worth it to kill another group of people for whatever odd reason they so choose, while the other comes to a similar agreement.

If it's only one sided, it's called Genocide.

A clash of civilizations occurs when the death of the other civilization is your number one desire.

Have you ever hated someone, for no reason at all? They didn't steal your girlfriend, didn't cheat off of you, didn't do anything exemplary... You just hate them for no reason?

That's a clash of civilizations.

Sounds more like a person with personal issues rather than a "clash of civilizations".

Sorry junior, bu you couldn't be more wrong.

When 2 (or more) civilizations come into direct contact and have conflicting morals, goals and behaviors there is a "clash of civiliizations". It could be as simple as Mexicans not assimilating into the American mainstream, or it could be as destructive as Cortez meeting the Aztecs.

I had Clash of Civilizations III. It was alright.
