8800s

Skuzzy I'm running two Geforce 8800's in SLI mode. Is there any steps you would recommend to get the best possible performance?

I forgot to mention that I am using Windows XP SP2, or Windows XP X64 (and the cards are staying where they are).

You will need a faster CPU to get more performance.  I presume you are using the SLI profile NVidia did for Aces High II?

Yes I am. I cant even imagine what a faster CPU would be like but okay!

I think he's saying you're being bottlenecked by your CPU. Your video card setup is so far beyond what your CPU can send to it.

With that setup it's not necessarily a bad thing, you won't get any worse performance. You just won't get any better performance. You've plateaud

A faster CPU would give you better performance in the game.  You guys should remember the game does contain flight simulation.  As such, there is a ton of physics/floating point math involved for each frame.

High end video cards are normally just waiting around for data from the CPU.  The faster the CPU, the better the overall performance is going to be.

I see what your saying. I dont think theres an X2 processor any faster then what I got. Is one of the FX cpus better to have? My MB doesnt support AM2.

My FX-55 oced on water (I mean Very cold water ) its at 15c under a load temp wise  and has been stable for about 3 weeks now .   I am pushing the core volts kinda hard though (1.7 volts)  
I cant recommend this OC  unless your on Zero Degree chilled water or a freon set up cause it does generate alot of Heat .

this cpu runs really good in the 3.0-3.2 area also

I snagged the cpu off newegg  for $200 ish  . I have seen the FX-60 oced harder though .(one of the guys got a cert on a 4.6 ghz OC w/ a FX-60) but I'm a Poor Roo and cant afford one of those .

Your 4800 should  OC from 2.4 to the 2.8-3.0 area really nice on good cooling and in all the reviews I've studied the 4800 is a very capable cpu when compared to a fx-55  ,,, you may get a better Balance in your combo if you stepped it down to a single 8800 and pulled it out of sli mode, even though your mainboard I believe supports full pipes on bolth pci-e (better double check though)

Yes I learned this the hard way  Upgrading to a 7600GT from a 5700LE I really didn't see much diffeance at all , bummer .

But I learned from it , I got a INTEL, Core™ 2 Duo E6600 Dual-Core, 2.4GHz but opted for a 7950GT VC instead of a 8800 just cause of this , and the driver issues the 8800 cards are having atm .

Whats that?....and where can I get it or see if I have it? and what does it do?

I'm running twin 8800GTX also, but I know just enough about PCs to get me into trouble.

I think I got it on ClubSLI  at nvidia. They have a list of games that are supported with custom profiles and the best of other things you can try.

I went to SLI Club and to the forums. Found the game optimazations and Aces High was listed but not able to click on it or find anything else about getting the patch for my twin 8800 GTX bad boys. Any suggestions?

I tried to retrace my steps and cant even find the optimizations. I found a link for the game lists but the area requires username/password and mine didnt work. Shouldnt be this hard.
