I've had my Banshee card for a little over a year. Do the following:
right-click on desktop->properties->Blastercontrol->color
And get rid of Colorific and 3Deep!! Every time I ran Wb with them I had to pull up the Colorific menu to restore gamma settings. On that color tab there's a slider for brightness, so just move it a few notches to the right.
I've had my card this way for a long time now with NO problems. I've yet to experience a lock-up, dump, or anything except low FPS. I already know it's my P-200 that's the cause of the low FPS, so nothing very drastic here.
As for 3Deep, it's useless. Same goes for Colorific. Why? You see, they're both programs running in the background. They both attempt to overlay a graphics correction on every program. That's the vid-card's job, not another program's. Plus they chew up a little horsepower by running in the background, and it takes Windoze longer to start since they have to be run at start-up for any real effect. The Banshee comes with brightness settings on the color tab; which is only visible if you kill both 3Deep and Colorific.
BTW, my FPS with these settings in an N1K get around 27...while attacking a forward field.
<EDIT> Colorific also made my monitor squeal due to the weird refresh rate IT set my monitor at. Once I went in and changed it manually; that darn thing re-set it when I rebooted the system!
In short: Colorific doesn't work worth a darn, so kill it. 3Deep only works for Quake and such, so unless you're playing those games as well, kill it too.<EDIT>
