The 109s will fare a bit better but they will be quite slow too.

Well, this is where the team tactics that are supposed to be fundamental to CT come in, isn't it?  As in real life, the FWs have the firepower to kill bombers, and the 109s have to keep the escorts off the FWs while they do that.  Real-life LW pilots had to plan their attacks carefully so that they approached the bomber formation from the proper angle, at the proper height, in a coordinated fashion and without having to worry about the escorting fighters.  I think this will probably be a very difficult thing to arrange, but it's something that squad-inclined people should really eat up.  When it all works according to plan, the bombers will die from head-on or high side attacks while the 109s divert the escorts.  If it doesn't all come together, the escorts will eat most of the fighters while the bomber gunners finish off the newbies making 6:00 attacks.

At 30k Co alt & Co E the P47 walks away with the ta-152 easily.

Even with the ta-152 starting behind the jug it was reversed 2 turns later after never getting a solid shot on target. P-47 had very little problem after that lighting up the ta-152 at will.

Practice is the key, small moves at alt, keeping speed up.

The one plane I havn't tried up high is the 110. I know from experience that at 20 - 25k it can be a fearsome bomber intercepter. Just need to try to take it higher.

Thanks to Morfiend for playing target.

Well, having participated the CE ops with B17s and B24s I think that will happen no matter what you do...

Good post wide

I'm just wondering who, if anyone will participate in these missions? Just look at how difficult it is to get people to join a mission in the main.

As far as I heard, missions may be the only way to fly in CT by design

From what's posted in the overview, the entire concept of CT is missions. A.I. planes make up for lack of real players. You don't get to choose your ride or the base. You have to "fly the mission" according to orders, accomplish the mission, and get back.

High altitude lack of oxygen.

I wonder if HT will model in death from anoxia. If you bail at 25K and open your chute you will die from oxygen starvation. At 25K you have to wait a 60 seconds or so before pulling the ripcord to get below 15K. At 30K it takes 2.5 minutes to freefall to earth. So if a Jerry pilot bails out and pops the chute too early, will he die in 4 minutes?

I also wonder if WEP duration is based engine temperature. It seems to me that  at 25K the sub-zero ambient temps would extend WEP time.

Best Regards
