Saitek Cyborg EVO programming...
« on: March 16, 2007, 02:08:55 PM »
I'm sure I'm not the first guy to ask this one, but I just joined at 4:30am today (after Warbirds frustrated me for the last time!), so I'm the newbe here.

 After some goofin' round, I figured out most of the control settings. Can't seem to get the bomb drop task into the right button. If you're familiar with the Saitek Cyborg EVO, heres my set up as it was on Warbirds, (would like to make it similar on AHII if possible):

1 - (Trigger) Primary weapons

2 - Fire secondary weapon (This used to drop my bombs, fire rockets etc.)

3 - Gun camera on.

4 - Secondary weapon select.

5 - WEP. (extra speed boost)

6 - Map.

(The 3 buttons on left side of the base);

 F2 - flaps down, F1 - flaps up, > - look up.

(The 3 buttons right of base);

< - gun camera off, F3 - auto climb, F4 - auto level.

So far I've got primary and secondary weapons fire where they need to be, as well as flaps up and down, throttle, and view up.

Can't select 2nd-ary weapon and fire it. Is there a map? Is there a WEP? And is there auto climb and level?

So far, I like AHII. You don't blackout, redout, and stall with every little move of the stick!!!    :aok

Default secondary fire is B on the keyboard.

Check your mapping . My guess is that B isn't linked to anything.

Once you map that B key the stick will map too.

I think backspace cycles through your weapons

Check your key mappings; if you use the saitek software, once your keys are mapped and you know what's what, setting up a profile is easy. I think all those commands are mapped by default, but I haven't changed mine in so long, I'm not 100% sure.

IINM, default mappings for the weapons are F for fire primary weaps, B for secondary, and backspace to cycle secondaries. Escape pulls up the map, and you can zoom in and out with insert and delete. P is WEP. ALT R is the command to start/stop the film recorder.

I no longer use my evo, but an X52, and I like the SSt software for being able to use one of the stick buttons as a shift, so you can double up programming. It can be a bit of a pain trying to find keys available for some functions, but the investment in time pays off when you don't have to hunt for keys in the dark, having your most used commands on the stick.
