Frame rate

I had to reinstall AH, and after the install, my frame rate is about half what it was before. I did nothing else to my system. Before, I would get 50-55 fps. Now, only 20-25. Was running it at same res, so i tried a few different resolutions, didnt help. Here's what I'm running.

Athlon 700
196mb Ram
Elsa Geforce 256 with Det3 drivers
DX 8 (build 146)

I'm baffled, had no problems until I reinstalled AH. Thanks in advance for any help.

For starters I'd move to a release build of Direct X.  An alpha build of Direct X could cause lots of issues. Try DX7.0a and see if that fixes it.

I was running the same build before I reinstalled, and it ran great. 50-55 fps. Hate to have to do a reformat
