16 or 32 multi-player hosting
« on: March 19, 2007, 11:48:20 PM »
I have just rediscovered the free 8 player games. I still pay my monthly. I am just having fun with the change of pace the small games give.

How about this.

I think my hardware and cable Internet connection could probably support 16 players. Not sure if I could support 32, but that would be even better.

This could be an opportunity to give an extra benefit to normal paid subscribers. (ability to host bigger games)

And you could maybe get the players in the free arenas to even pony up $5 a month to play in the 16 or 32 player games. Still keep the 8 player free to get them in the door.

Win, win, win....

Thanks for listening.

I'm sure HT doesn't want to be taking people away from the MA's by offering this, but I've always thought it was a good idea.  If paying customers had the ability to host a bit larger rooms it could be nice for squad training, duels, etc...

Why?

Fear of having even emptier/scarcer servers/numbers.

some of the ffa/teams maps are extremely small and they seem crowded with 8 people, 16-32 people would be chaos

I don't understand you MA foggies. If I had said, "YES!" you guys would've said, "Heck no, when you pay you can play!" I like it as it is, it keeps it under control of HTC moderators.

16-32 player rooms for PAYING CUSTOMERS. Not for the freeloaders, you would have no access to those rooms.

So once again why would you oppose paying customers 16-32 player room?

I myself wouldn't mind paying customers to be capable of hosting 32 player rooms. Because then HTC has to improve it's H2H servers to include this feature.:D

Erm no he doesn't. Just add a dedicated paying h2h server.
Since he is being "paid".

Up to him, yet I think he'd go with what he has, except upgrade it to suit what you suggested.
