freeze of mouse and j/stick

ok my prob is'nt exclusive to aces high.but one of you tech guru's can surely help a girl out of this dilemma.within seconds of entering the ma or h2h my joystick and mouse freeze.this also happens in any game i go into.but the joystick checks out ok on the desktop as does the mouse otherwise i would'nt be able to even do this.
joystick=logitech 3d extreme
mouse=ms explorer.
both are usb going through a hub,i've bypassed the hub to no avail,but as i said no probs using the apps on the pc just games.
my sound card although old is working fine in other apps =awe64 gold  (i like it lol)
graphics card gf 32mbmx
the drivers of both the sound and g/card have been just updated could the prob poss lie there.
p.s. the one who comes up with the solution that works i promise not to shoot at.

I dunno.  I have a J/S going through USB and often AH will come up without the stick.  My solution is to unplug and plug in again the J/S.

What's particularly annoying is when I'm playing AH, it will lose my JS -- or rather invent some bizarre calibration of left ailer and plenty of backpressure -- so I'm trying to replug it while spinning out of control.  I've also seen it suddenly freeze AH while it re-recognized every peripheral I have attached.

dracken1,

I do have an idea of what the problem might be, even without knowing the details of your system (besides what you stated).

BUT...you can't shoot at me very well if your joystick doesn't work anyhow!   :)

...So, I'll settle for a kiss    :D

Sounds like your joystick and mouse can't be used at the same time. (Imagine a long line of tech stuff here...lol)

Try this.

From the Tower, click 'Hangar'...then select your plane and arms as you always do. From there, bring the clipboard back up and click 'Tower'.

Now disconnect your mouse (unplug it from whatever it is plugged into    :) )

Press / on the keyboard to bring up the radio, type ".fly" (without the quotes) and press 'Enter'.

Depending on your system, Windows might bring up a screen about the mouse being unplugged...just hit 'Enter' to close out the error and continue flight!

I hope this helps.

bracken1,

If the stick and mouse freeze before you even get into the tower, please try disconnecting your stick first (before starting the game), then follow the above directions, only plugging the stick back in once the mouse is disconnected and right before you use the ".fly" command.

<S!> and Good Luck!!!
