And your detail slider. As you move the slider more towards "faster" things start to go away.
Before I got my uber machine I had to keep it towards the right to get frame rates over 10 in GV's. I took a shot on a tank in the distance and hit a tree. As I rolled in closer I realized there was a whole forrest and a barn between him and me. Funny, I could see through the forrest to the tank from far away, but not once I got close.
Ooops I think I just gave away a secret..
