I can get a 30 percent discount on rooms at sandestin golf and beach resort in destin FL, during the off season thats less than 100 bucks a night on one of the most expensive largest resorts in florida;) if hightech is interested they should let me know, also theres countless bars and resteraunts inside the resort. its PERFECT!!!! they also have conference rooms that can probly be setup for lanning

It has been rumored that if it happens ... it will probably be in the October time frame and will be in the Dallas/Grapevine area.

The main reason for the having the con in the Dallas/Grapevine area is so that most or all of the HTC staff can attend, which is very important IMHO.

I went to the con in St. Louis and only HT came ... it was a great con.

The next year is was in Dallas/Grapevine and all HTC staff attended ... it was a much better con.

nerd fact alert (wooo wooo woo)

until recently, outside of texas you could pretty much only get blue bell ice cream from outback steakhouse.  our managers were always harping on that.

i pretty much hated the job but half price filets and blue bell ice cream....almost made it worth it.

also, why not have the convention in the middle of the east coast to allow more people to have access...say Raleigh, NC is pretty close to center!

the convention will be split into 4 rooms orange/blue/old dweebs/and young dweebs..there will be a 10 person cap..but it will auto raise as needed thank you
