I don't jump in the fighter a whole lot, but I did last night to help save A23. My squaddies were with me (Buzzbe, Holder and Hening). Hening logged after the last buff mission we did. But the rest of us were in GVs at 23 until the VH was blasted. So we upped La7s from 29 to try to clear cons at 23.
There was 3 or 4 folks who kept coming back for more and the names all elude me. Comet was there, Steely? and others. I remember the airplanes....an La7, Spit, P-51, F4, 109 and a P47 all provided us with great fights. The Spitfire driver really wowed us, as we chatted on BattleCom throughout the engagements. He was really riding the jagged edge, making some really tight turns and high angle of attack turns. I think all of us had the stall horns blaring as we talked to each other!
At any rate, I don't recall who you all were, but it was a great fight. As soon as we'd clear you guys out, the runway was packed with all of us landing at once to quickly re-arm and re-fuel, and get back up there to fend you off again.
