Its a pity no one has mentioned or asked for this famous bomber.

It served in all theaters of the war all through the war,it would make a good early war bomber.

I would love to see the Wellington. 11,461 of them were produced -- the most of any UK bomber.

...It sure is nice to see somebody suggest a plane that ACTUALLY fought the War!!....most players in this game want 1945-46 planes ......your suggestion is excellent

Type 417 Wellington B.Mk III : The next significant variant was the B Mk III which featured the 1,375 hp (1,205 kW) Bristol Hercules III or XI engine and a four-gun tail turret, instead of two-gun. A total of 1,519 Mk IIIs were built and became mainstays of Bomber Command through 1941.

I have lised this bomber as one of the big gap fillers for years now.

Why? It is an early war Allied bomber that the early war Axis fighters can actually catch and it carries a usable war load. I have had a Boston Mk III run down my Bf109E-4 and force me to turn and fight, allowing the Hurricanes to catch up to me and kill me.

It was VERY durable though.

The plane was designed by the famous barns wallis(off bouncing bomb fame) and features a frame work that was light weight but extreamly strong.

there were many accounts of aircraft coming home wth vast aeras of frabic missing from there airframes and larg amounts of damage done to them.being frabric couvered bullets and cannon shells pass straight through.

i think this plane it worthy of aces high

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be seeing any new bombers soon but I would love the Wellington and some of the other British bombers be added like the Helifax.
