So say we all.

They did announce plans for a 2 hour movie between season 3-4 a couple months ago.  It's supposed to be a sideline story, and seperate from the story arcs in the regular epps.  Its supposed to show in the fall.

SCI FI has renewed Battlestar Galactica for a full fourth season, commissioning 22 hour-long episodes of "the best show on television." This will include a special two-hour extended event that will air during fourth quarter 2007 and be released on DVD by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Production will resume in May with an eye toward a early 2008 season premiere.

Neither.  Bear McCreary, the shows composer did it.  You can read about the background of that version  here on his blog.

1. How the hell could Col. Tigh be a Cylon? He was around for the first war against the old school toasters.

rumor is,

TY and the other 3 last night and Starbuck, are still held captive by the
cylons somewhere, and they where replaced by clones.

Ty might have been replaced late in the 1st war with a early clone.

waiting to 2008 SUCKS !!!!!!

Could be more sinister.

Anyone remember that movie Imposter? Where the guy was a clone with a sort of biological bomb implanted him? And he was triggered by seeing certain things.

Now why would the 4 of them come together at a certain place and time? And is there a missing piece (ie starbuck)?

It all happened before yaddayaddayadda.. the future is already written yaddayaddayadda..

Apparently they have no control over their lives and everything happens as a result of an intelligent design.

I would say they are the messengers of god who all the Cylons will listen to and Number Six is there to wittness this and convince the other Cylons that the newly realised Cylons are indeed Cylons too and not a trick of the humans. Number Six has always been religiously zealous in a different way than the others.

Don't forget she got blood from the baby for her cancer.  I would guess that would give her some kind of connection.

Ok heres my final predication:

The four are clones replaced on New Caprica by the Cylons (remember they were all resistance fighters).

What I'm not sure about is their function:
- spies?
- preprogrammed plants
- bioweapons (ever see the movie imposter, where the clone was a bio weapon designed to explode on a certain visual stimuli)

This also means the Starbuck we saw die was not really Starbuck.

Why did they come together with the music thing? Is that a flaw in their design? Or is it the bioweapon thing where all 5 of them have to come together to explode or something (like unlock their programming).

The presidents dreams are the result of the blood transfusion.

Apollo is halucinating or having 'visions'.

Why that song though? Are they that close to Earth that they are picking up radio signals?

And as far as Starbuck, any theories on where she got a Viper?

BSG Started off great, but there has been a lot of shark jumping in the last 3 episodes and it's starting to lose it's shine for me.

1st. The Chief as union leader.
2nd. Lee as Perry Mason.

I can suspend disbelief only so much, and these tend to be "a plot device too far." It's a plague of good sci fi, all the way back to Star Trek - TOS. Let’s see, why don't we have all the major characters, including all of the senior command staff, beam down into peril (and the big episode story) because of the lead characters' egos and budgets (since you already have these guys under contract, and you have limited the core cast to a handfull, why pay for someone else with enough acting chops to do a walk on role...)

Although ST-TNG was too politically correct 1990s new age for me, at least they avoided this for the most part. You had Picard on the bridge most of the time, with Riker and the others holding their story lines as required in a more realistic fashion doing much of the exotic stuff in a more believable command structure kind of way. Enterprise, for all its promise and hot Vulcan chick, got back to the same crap.

With BSG , there is a wealth of supporting cast to take on such ancillary plotlines. I can only assume its ego among the main characters.

The Union thing would have been a natural for Tom Zarek to have a conflict with Rosylin. Frankly, The chief and his wife should have been airlocked, IMO, for their mutinous behavior.

The Baltar trial could also have easily involved Tom Zarek in a new political struggle with Roslyn instead of another continuation of Lee's daddy complex. For that matter, the new lawyer didn't really need any assistance. The only positive is that Lee's speech did try to explain away some of the previous minor plot irritations.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. BSG remains must see TV for me, and I hope it stays that way.

As RPM pointed out it was also the finale of Rome. And that was about as close to perfection as I could want. What a fantastic series and what a fine ending. What BSG needs is the cold and calculating Admiral Octavian, President Atia to handle the domestic issues and perhaps Pullo as the CAG -- a simple man and a warrior worthy of Starbuck. Something tells me this whole Cylon mess would be cleared up in no time :)
