They had bi planes in world war II bi planes sunk down the Unbeatable german Bismark

Here are names of bi planes
Caproni Ca133
Fokker C.X
Ki-30 "anne"

Please add these to Aceshigh 2

Yet, he doesnt mention the plane that ACTUALLY helped sink the bismark.

Btw, AFAIK, Biplanes didnt sink her. They took out her rudder, then the Navy caught up and destroyed her, before I believe it was HMS George V put a few torpedoes into her and finished her off. Or the Germans Scuttled her, still open debate. Biplanes, AFAIK, did not sink the Bismark. Now im often wrong, but this is one thing im 99% sure of! Only thing im not certain of is the name of the ship who loosed the fish at the Bismark to finish her

You're right, the Swordfish planes didn't sink the Bismark but without their aid I don't think the Bismark would have been sunk during that particular encounter.  It would have been eventually sunk but after it had gotten loose in the shipping lanes and wreaked havoc.

I never denied that the Swordfish didnt help in the sinking, but they never SANK her. they only helped

King George V and Nelson (or Rodney, can't recall which) shelled the heck out of the Bismark and turned her into a blazing, doomed wreck after the Swordfish crippled her.

However, King George V was a battleship and battleships don't carry torpedoes.  She was torpedoed by British destroyers or cruisers and her crew also set off the scuttling chargers.  It was the scuttling charges that sank her, but she was doomed regardless.

It was HMS KGV and HMS Rodney. Nelson was laid up for repairs.

If the Bismark had not been discovered that day and slipped through to the Atlantic and started to patrol the shipping lanes, how much damage could it have done?  Would it had been as significant as the damage done by the U-boats or combined with the U-boats would have been enough to strangle England?

The biggest impact the Swordfish had on the war wasn't the help in the sinking of the Bismark, but the attack on the Italian naval fleet in port at Taranto.

A few fabric biplanes pretty much took out the Italian fleet from the war and thus gave the British dominance of the Med.  The Japanese also studied the attack and used it as their inspiration to attack Pearl Harbour.

I've wondered that exact question myself many, many times.  Given the huge expense and resources needed to build and maintain the Bismarck's for their role (mainly commerce raiding) you'd think it'd be better used for a few dozen more u-boats.  Tirpitz did nothing more than become a constant target for the RAF.  But, ultimately, so did the u-boats.

Thanks Karnak, wasnt sure, I had honestly no idea who launched the torpedoes at her. But i DO know it WASNT swordfish who sank her
