The Swordfish launched a raid of the HMS Ark Royal, and managed to hit the Bismarks Rudder. The naval command thought it was a trick to throw them off or a mis spotting, but after two more recon planes had confirmed it, they knew the Bismark was in trouble. They then sent in the big guns (Ok, crap pun but hey) aand inside of I believe it was 15 minutes, they had reduced the upper deck to an inferno. No one survived on the upper decks AFAIK. Then after this, they fired some torpedoes into the Bismark to finish her off, and some people say the Germans Scuttled her as well. This is from What I know, and the Swordfish didnt sink her. No show should show her as doing this

No, they showed the Swordfish forcing her into a continuous left turn and a bunch of big guns (heh) pounding her into scap metal.  They emphasized the bit about them flying through all the AAA, though.

There's a story of a British sailor jumping into the water to save a German who had his arms blown off during the battle.  They charged him with desertion or something like that.  Any truth?
