Avalon Airshow 2007
« on: March 27, 2007, 03:04:08 AM »
Made the road trip from Adelaide to Geelong on the weekend to attend the 2007 Avalon Airshow. It was about a 9 hour drive, and we didnt get a whole lot of sleep friday night, but had a great time at the show on sat.

My older brother is a logistics officer in the RAAF and he knew a few of the hornet pilots and also a kiowa pilot from officer training. We got to go behind some of the barriers and got a really good close look at one of the new Tigre helos the Army is getting.

Pretty cool stuff.

Just wondering if any other AH people were there and what you thought.

My only criticisms are that the food was god awful and the big finale, '10 sticks of dynamite' or whatever the frick it was called, seemed random and confusing. I wonder if they had triggering issues with some of the explosives? Impressive flying still ;)
