I hope the voting is on the up and up,and that some of the folks don't game the voting,like they game the game.I would hate to see a plane get in as a result of stuffing the ballot box.I know that I will create some heat by making that statement,but after reading endless threads about why a Brewster Buffalo or G-55 Centauro belongs in the planeset,I believe that some of these people will stop at nothing to get thier plane in.Frankly the P39 probably is the best choice,will it get the most votes,I don't know,but as long as a hanging chad or some other reason isn't used to out vote it, I will be glad to except the outcome.What this game could use is couple of real anti-tank options.Anyone besides me getting tired of Tigers racking up massive kills,and taking a large amount of hits with no damage'Bring on the 88's,M24's,Elefants,etc and light them Tigers up!What do we get..Sherman Firefly.To put are young men in them tanks was a down right shame.

El Tigre dispatched far more Fireflies than vice versa.Correct me if I'm wrong,but I believe a 17 lber is 76mm in other words.The 88's muzzle velocity allowed it to be shot flat as a fritter for a long ways.We all know how well the Sherman was armored!!

1- How are people going to stuff the ballot box?  If people want to spend a non-refundable $14.95  to open more subscriptions to get more votes, then yes I suppose they could do just that.  I certainly won't stop them.

2-  Your call for a Tiger killing M-24 while deriding the Firefly is inaccurate.  You must have the M-24 confused with the M-26.  The 17 pounder on the Firefly is phenomenal even without APDS rounds.  The Tiger's perk cost will plummet.

Meant M36, a tank destroyer Pyro,not M26 the Pershing.I've watched AH being gamed by individuals for years.If there is a way to crib the vote,and perhaps there isn't,it will be done.Beings this is the first time a plane is going to be voted in,some of us are a might nervous.If the Firefly is modeled correctly,and I'm sure it will be.The time to reload that 76mm is excruciatingly slow.You gv'ers best make that first one count if you are using the Firefly.

Irondog, There were several 76mm weapons in use by all sides in WWII. 76.2mm is 3 inches. Not only the 17 pounder, but the M5 antitank gun(which used the barrel of the old 3 inch AA gun married to a 105mm howitzer breech and recuparator/carriage), The russians had a 76mm field gun(the model 1939) that was such a good antitank gun, the Wermacht not only used every captured example they could get their hands on, they even set up factories to make ammo for it. But of the Antitank weapons fielded by the Allies, the 17pndr. was just about the best. It was one of these weapons(mounted in a Mk.Vc firefly) that killed Micheal Wittman's Tiger.

     Of course, in the Whack-a-mole game that is our current TT, nothing stands much chance of survival, no matter what the armor.

I'm not very knowledegable about ground vehicles, but I think there is a key missing between the 75mm and 76mm mounts on the Shermans.

I've not read mention of the 75mm HVAP nor the 76mm HVAP round that were mounted upon later Shermans to match the Tigers and Panthers penetration abilities.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the 75mm HVAP and the 76 mm HVAP give grief to the German armor? The 75mm HVAP round of the Panther tank was very deadly.

I don't know a whole lot about the 75 or 76,but from what I've read the 17 lber was a very capable round.Thats why it was fitted into the Firefly.Take heed,the 17lber took excruciatingly long to reload.If modeled correctly it will make the T34 seem fast.
