Motorola Cell Phone

Does anyone here have a Motorola Cell phone?

I own a V360 that is about 3 months old that has stopped working. I sent it in under warrenty to get fixed and Motorola's authorized repair center sent it back saying it had physical damage.

Net result. It is not covered under warrenty nor will they fix it.

The reality is the phone has no physical damage on the outside (broken plastic or broken glass display). It was never physically abused. Yet by claiming it has internal physical damage Motorola will not repair it.

I paid over $300 for the phone. I am totally pissed off at this scam Motorola is running. Claim physical damage and you don't have to fix the broken phone.

My advice is do not get a Motorola cell phone or any other Motorola product ever.

I wish I could sue those bastards.

Don't give up. Write them a letter or email and explain what happened. If that doesn't work call their cusomer service and explain. Don't get angry, but be persistant.

I heard they've got a sticker in there that can let them know if the phone had been dropped in water, 'cause too many people were claiming "it just stopped working".  could be related...

The V360 came out in 2005, it seems unusual that you paid $300 for it 3 months ago.

I'm not a huge fan of Motorola phones (I use an old Siemens S66 for myself) but the RAZR seems ok.  I've got one for work, and it works well.  I've reflashed it with a Mac OS X skin for fun, and it's handy, but I'm not a fan of the hinge type phones.  I prefer candybar phones because the moving part is a weakness.  My wife is on her 3rd RAZR, I think, twice because of hinge problems.

This is what I was thinking as well.  I though water damage was the only thing that wasn't supposed to be covered by the insurance?  Take off the battery cover and look for a small round sticker in there somewhere, if its pink or red you're screwed.

I have the V557, and it has the sticker in side it.
Heres the secret with  Motorola phones, radios, (basically anything made by them)
Don't get it wet or store it in a humid area, NEVER leave one on the dash board of your car when its excessively wet in your car.

Might want to read the warranty too, just to make sure weather or not water damage is covered or not.

Mine says its not covered for water intrusion

I have an old LG brand phone I got when I opened my Verizon account about 3 years ago. I think brand new then it cost something like $75
Nothing fancy no camera or other doodads.
But it works great 99% of the time for the one thing I want it to do most.
Make a phone call when I want to.

My wife and my son have been through at least 3 phones each in that same time period. All with the latest camera/fliptop/keypad/jukebox thingies. all costing at least 3 times as much.
to this day they both do.
And neither has a phone that works as well as my elcheapo when it comes to making phone calls LOL

Had a mororola once a few years ago they (the repair area )claimed got wet and screwed the battery. which they refused to replace. They wanted like $50 for a nw battery
Dont know how it got wet as it was never near anything damp but so be it.

Told em they could either replace the battery or I would open a new account with another company and take the free phone from them.
Asked em if them not giving me a battery was worth loosing the hundreds of dollars worth of business.

The guy must have been able to tell I wasnt bluffing cause he gave me the new battery.

Insted of sending it out go to somewhere where you can talk to someone in person. Make the same arguement only make sure you keep looking them dead square in the eyes when you do it.

Completely unnerves most people

Wow.  I have a Motorola V265 that has been through heck and back.  I knock it out of its holder a lot on asphalt parking lots, cement floors, stone floors, etc many many times or knock it out of its holder just because I forget its there.  I'm on the third skin or whatever you call them ie the removeable shell that you can doll em up with.  And this case is broken in several places, and sometimes the lcd screen on outside goes inverted, does a mirror image, sometimes just goes black, sometimes the top half of image overlaps on bottom one etc. etc.  Sometimes I stick it in my front jeans pocket and hit machinery and stuff climbing around working on stuff, or laying on it either in my pocket or in its holster.  (BTW I am a farmer)

But flip it open and everything works perfect on the big display.  And it sounds great and works without missing a beat.  Was thinking of getting another Motorola as well as this one has served me.  Yep had great luck with my Motorola.

I heard about the sticker. Mine has never gotten wet. I took good care of it which is way I am so pissed off regarding this.

I paid that price as the phone was new in Canada when I bought it in November. I did not get any kind of discount with the cell provider.

My phone does it all for $109 a month, I can text, take pictures, videos, store almost anything I want to, I don't send text messages though, I tell everybody "if you want to leave a message write it down and leave it on my desk with all the other junk, I'll get to it. As for pictures and video, its nice to take a picture every now and then, but unless Jesus Christ himself, walks up and asks me out, I don't see my self taking a video any time soon

ummmmmm

What does JC asking you out have to do with taking a video of yourself?
