Things I whish I had of known
« on: March 30, 2007, 01:56:37 PM »
Just wanted to post some tips that may not be that well known.

The tilde key "~" will open a larger chat buffer.

Dot comands are your friend.
.f Game ID - will find anyone in any arena
.p Game ID will send a message to any arena

In the TA Leaving from A3 sw runway will drop you at 30,000 ft above A1.

The Trainers are a wonderful asset. Use them.
Ghosth is the man!!!

Please add more if you think off it.

You can click and drag your text buffer on the screen.

If you are in a squad, .sr will show you the locations of all your squadmates.

Using the Insert and Delete keys to zoom in and out on the map was a big one for me back in the day.

If you fly the 109's, you must learn the use of the K key, it gets your nose up when your compressing.  You'll need to reset Combat Trim after it's use.

Amazing!! By locks do you mean the mouse freezes on you?

If this is true my time spent here is golden! It's only happened to me twice but both times it was during a snapshot. I had to hustle and re-Log before the bases were locked down.

Scotty, flying a P-38 I am surpirsed you don't know this one.
From what I understand it goes like this:

J = left rudder trim
L = right rudder trim
I = down aileron trim
K = up aileron trim

Netaces has a very good keyboard guide with all these commands
and more on it.  Well worth a download!

the .squelch  is a nice one to know, for the sqqqqquelers..out there
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC
