Does this sound like fun to your squadron?
« on: August 28, 2001, 10:38:00 AM »
Anyone remember the neat mission planner thingy they had in SWOTL?  Remember how much fun you had orchestrating several flights and looking at the data to see how everyone did after you flew your flight?

Here's something similiar except without an AI:
~Comraderie working with other squadrons.

~Receiving, or issuing orders to your satillite squadrons.

~Offline homework, about 30 min. worth, to plan flights, target analysis, ingress and egress routes, fuel and ord loadouts, pilot/Flight leader, flight assignments.

~Organizing larger operations if a frame CO.

~Analysing post AAR's, lessons learned.

~Improving ones tactics from AAR's and executing better tactics from training.

~Enjoying true historically-used tactics, and/or creating your own.

If any of this sounds interesting, you MUST sign your squad up for the upcoming Tour of Duty beginning Sept.10th.  A Euro-time friendly event is in the works as well.
Its not about who wins or who loses, its about planning, execution, results of your orders.

Come join us, its what flight sims are all about. Click on the EVENTS text at the homepage of HTC website, and select TOD, register your squad today.  We've had between 100-150 people online for these once-a-week-for-3 week events so far, be nice to have 200+.

Real men fly the TOD.
Non-men do not.

Hmmm, I'll make that statement PC:

Real Virtual pilots fly Tour of Duty, Quake-like squads do not.  :)

I like the concept, sounds exciting. But I cannot speak for the squad I belong too. I'd probably would try and be a 'guest' if I could log on during one of these.

I would like to be a guest also.  Just not on Hblair's side.

Plenty of "Guest" spots open on various squads, simply click the GUEST text and it will email the CO of that squad for you.  Personally, we had 3 guests this last frame (Vulcan, Jihad, and Acid) and they worked in wonderfully.

Drex, Westy, the 332nd Flying Mongrels would be honored to have either of you flying with us.

We're signed up to fly Axis for this next TOD.

Thanks Ghosth! It would be MY honor to fly alongside you and the 332nd folks.  I'll make sure that my Friday nights in September are going to be free before committing. October will be mighty hard for me to get onlien at all.

Is the current TOD "London...." finished?

Yup the 1st TOD is finished. The TOD takes a break this Friday and resumes next Friday in Mindanao.

Guests are *always* welcomed... if your squad isn't involved yet, don't let that stop ya. Tons of squads would be happy to have you fly with them.

Some of us have job hours that make it impossible sometimes to fly TOD.  Depends on schedule.

Oooooooo.......  PTO action next TOD.  Hmmm...

Well, hopefully, if I can take part, my damn comp won't take a dump on me like last Friday.  :(
