So, the other night I got me a new joystick. A Thrustmaster Top Gun Pro 2. I really hate the fragile daintiness of the Saitek's and the Logitech's. It reminds me a lot of my old MS Siderwinder Pro stick that I used for 5 years before it broke. And, the price was right. With CompUSA going out of business here they are having a big sale on all on-hand merchandise. With the discount and my giftcard I paid a total of $2.47. Not bad.

So I get home and plug it into my obsolete AMD 1700+ muscle machine and flew AHII offline. I downloaded AHII a while back but without a joystick never flew anything. I spent a good bit of time flying offline with the new joystick and I have to say I really like the improvements over the original AH game. As soon as my wife and I are settled into our new digs I will contact HTC and reactivate my account.

So beware fellow furballers, that DiabloTX you shot down was me. Ch. 200 will be clear. I fear I have about 5 inches of rust to knock off and then I will have to exercise my trigger finger to get my edge back. I can't wait to flame Storch's bellybutton sometime. But that's for another post...dotdotdot.

No allegiance to any side. I'll probably spend my time in the only arena worth visiting regularly, AvA.

i didnt fly for nearly a year. been on again for six months. about ready to take a break. ive hit a plateau on my skills (slightly above noob) and need to step away for a bit so i can learn again.

love the game. truly.

Of it werent for the time stamps Id swear you read mine then ran out to the store.

My outcome was slightly less satisfactory

Yep, back to my old original name "Meatwad". Used to be Mtwd81st, but after my last break I decided to try for my old name. Turns out when I cancelled that account years ago my old CPID wasnt released yet form my old account.

I had them release it on the phone and 5 min later, Meatwad was back in action

I just checked the score thing to see when I flew last:

August of 2005. Every month I checked before that for quite (about a year) etween 4 and 11 hours.

I'm thinking of getting back online; but I need a new machine...
