RAF and Brigades

I was under the impression that Brigades were not part of the RAF structure.

I thought that was an army term.

Any of you British fellas know????

They have Flights, Squadrons, Wings, Groups and Commands

The ranks show each persons role too: -

Group Captain
Wing Commander
Squadron Leader
Flight Lieutenant
Flying Officer
Pilot Officer

So if a gentleman told me online he was "10 years in Her
Majestys Service (RAF) as a dog handler" and later said he was trained "in his brigade" to such and such his verasity should questioned?

could also be RAF Regiment (RAF has a little army for protecting airfields)

Supposedly this gentleman said this. I checked and they disbanded a dog unit in 1994 and now it is run  by volunteers. It's used at special events.

The gentleman has indicated he has knowledge of dogs but he seems to be ignorant in several areas.

I reviewed the writing pattern and phrases and I believe he is a she and American as I am Redneck.

The RAF do have dog handlers, and also has it's own police force - i dont know the structure of the RAF Police.

I wouldn't doubt it - very possible... and to be honest, if he was going to lie about being in the RAF, he would probably say he was a pilot and not a dog handler

Ask where he/she(!) were based, trained etc.

The context is I advised a lady to obtain some Pepper Spray (OC) for a vicious dog in her neighborhood on a Freecycle site I run.

He said I was full of it (in so many words) and it would not work and the reason was because he was a dog handler in the RAF.

I'm trained in aerosol chemicals and I know this to work very effectively.

I think it's just an animal fanatic who is afraid a dog might get sprayed. I get a few of those nuts sometimes.

I have never heard anyone refer to Brigade in the context of the RAF but I'm a Redneck and I don't get out much.

the RAF does have a Regiment.Original purpose was to defend airfields etc.

being a guy who makes regular flights at an RAF base near Hertfordshire i know for a fact that dogs are used for security:aok

Whether this lady (or gentleman or whatever) is lying about his/her/it's past, I cannot answer.

But as to pepper spray working on dogs, it does wonders.
