Yup. Russian pilots had a tendency to put catchy phrases on their aircraft. Probably half heartfelt sentiment and half appeasement of the Commissars.

Sometimes the organization that paid for the aircraft would have their names on it; Malay Theater donated some Yaks, Mongolia some La5s, and their was one guy at a factory that got an La-5 named after him, but his name escapes me.
