I'm home with one of my sons, who's sick.  He's getting the royal treatment... me bringing him whatever he wants, etc.

So he says he wants to watch "that John Wayne movie." I went through a whole list of John Wayne movies trying to figure out which one he was asking for, without success.

Turns out he was asking for "that Chon Wang" movie ~ Shanghai Noon/Knights.

So anyway ~ what's your favorite John Wayne movie?

These are all my favorites. I don't have a single favorite John Wayne Movie so I had to go with those that would all be at the top of my list.

The Hellfighters
The Green Berets
In Harms Way
Donovans Reef
The Longest Day
The High and The Mighty
Blood Alley
Flying Leathernecks
Sea Chase

McClintock

Main Cast: John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Yvonne De Carlo, Patrick Wayne, Stefanie Powers, Chill Wills, Edgar Buchannan, Struther Martin. Directed by Andrew V. McLaglen. Produced by Michael Wayne.
John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara teemed up again for this romantic comedy, a Westernized Taming of the Shrew. The highlight of the film is the famous mud scene. Over a hundred stunt men were used and they slid down a muddy embankment, fighting and brawling as they slid. Yvonne De Carlo played an attractive widow hired as a cook by the Duke, who played a cattle baron separated from his wife, Maureen O'Hara.

All of them.

My Daughter after not showing any interest at all in John Wayne movies I picked up a copy of "The Cowboys" and watched it with her

Now shes a John Wayne addict

Wayne wasnt a great actor. But he was a great movie star.
With great lines

His charactors personified an "American" is and should be.

Damn shame we dont have anymore like him

I remember hearing once that "The Searchers"  was the only role Wayne ever did "method" acting in where he became the charactor in the movie.
He found it so hard to get out of charactor
He swore he would never do it again
