HELP!
« on: December 23, 2001, 12:48:00 AM »
I am running the following:

P IV 1.6 GHZ
512 MEG RAM - DDR
GEForce 2 - 64 Meg RAM - DDR
Sound Blaster Live
Saitek X36F - X35T
Direct X 8.0

Running in 1024 x 768 - 32 Bit mode
Have tried all video settings

When I play online or offline the cockpit is constantly jerking around. Not the normal stuff when firing. It is jerking really bad. The map does the same thing when I have it up. Sits there and jerks around.

Please help me to fix this. I am very ready to start flying again.

Thanks

Are you using a dial up connection?

Are you using DX8.01 or DX8.0 ?  In DX8.0 their is a bug ..and you have to get a patch so you  can turn down the "Debug out put level".  Use DX8.01

Some one posted something about turning the the Hardware acceleration level down one notch on some thingy but I cant find the post now.

DUH .. just reread your post ..you are using DX8.0 ... try DX8.1

Post back and let us know if it worked.  Hope you get it fixed.

Try DX 8.1

You don't mention what OS you are running.  Be sure you are running WHQL certified drivers for your video card.  Check my signature lines below for links and recommended drivers.

The "latest" nVidia drivers are often not the most stable.  Get the certified ones if you want it to work properly.

Failing that, get the latest sound drivers... those can cause a problem.

Running Win 2000

I can't run DX 8.1 That is what got me into this spot in the first place. When I install DX 8.1 my video is all kinds of hosed.

Any ideas?

hmmmmm... Don't worry about it. Very strange.

Tried installing another set of drivers and that screwed up my system. Booted into safe mode removed those and reinstalled my old drivers and now I am working fine in AH.

Thanks

When was the last time you defragged? If it's been a while, this could be the problem.
Run scandisk first and see if there are any errors on the disk and let it correct them.

I've seen that before, the fix is just to go into AH video settings and check the 60 fps limit.

(BTW: What motherboard did you get that uses DDR Sdram?  Unless you built the system yourself or a computer store did it for you there is really no way it's DDR ram.)
