.. this pix was taken at a 'bit' over the Century mark on the speedo

The Vette just impresses the heck outta me ..rock steady, loafin along, easiest car I have ever driven at speed.

Spent a day at Speedworld drag racin .. I need sticky tires ;)

I'd like to upgrade to a vette...  Money isn't the issue, wife preference is the issue.  My Dad has a Z06 and my wife thinks he shouldn't have spent money on a vette, therefore I shouldn't have one either.

*shrug*

I'm working on twisting this into getting a porsche instead...  I've had my eye on a carrera 4 for years...

One of my life goals is to live by a warm, sub-tropical ocean.  The other is to own a corvette and cruise up and down the coastal highway.

My wife said a 350Z would be acceptable, but sheesh... I want a real car.  You can't make a 350Z really fast without dumping another $10k into it, and by then you might as well have bought a vette or porsche anyhow.

I'd take the G35 coupe over the 350Z any day, looks way better and me being 6'5" I can actually fit in it.

There's nothing wrong with the new vettes, but I prefer something alittle older.

I've wanted one of the these since I was 5 or 6 years old.

then when I was ten I wanted one of these

eagle .. and any others thinkin of a Vette:

http://www.cnv-corvettes.com/index.html

You *can* get there, from here :)

Their payment calculator was right on (within a dollar of what our payments ended up bein) .. they average about 200 vette's to choose from, alla way from '53 on up, and if they dont have exactly what you want, they can get it for ya.

They do a full on service, takin care of any problems before they list the car for sale. It's a reputable dealer, full of Vette folks that know 'em inside and out.

From mild mannered smog motored small block automatics to full on 4-gear rat powered '67 roadsters .. they got 'em.

Yanno .. I got the wife her Durango. Then another. Was great in the snow and the rough roads back east.
In Phoenix .. we just dont need 4wd.
We both got tired of bein asked to provide bus service for anyone that needed airport runs, appointment runs, this .. that . . the other.
We were runnin the wheels off it .. as a bus .. for others.

We traded it in on the Vette. Her .. and I .. no 3rd passenger.
No requests for 'hey could you pick up the kids from school, and take us to 'hey, could you drop me-pick me and my bags up from the airport? .. . etc.

30mpg at 70mph, 24mpg to work an back on city streets, cruise over 100mph easily, drag race every month (13's in the 1/4, stock), other vette drivers wave at you, corners like a slot car, makes me smile every time I walk up to it ..because I know what's comin .. its FUN to drive!

Wife wasn't too thrilled at givin up her Durango .. now .. she says we may get a Vette for *me* in a couple years  .. she loves drivin it too :)

-Frank (ridin in one is not the 'thing' .. let her drive one ..ya never know .. she may get you one . . in a couple years .. or let you drive hers :)

Man, that's nice GE.  I went to an F-body get together last October and I was surrouned by early 20-somethings speaking leet with each other and watching a few "stare downs at high-noon" testosterone-fueled conflicts.  Wasn't much fun at all.  I guess the Corvette crowd is a bit more, um, "mature" for that kind of thing.

But I sure as hell know what you're talking about we you mention the 'smile' factor when you get behind the wheel.

I've always wondered why, when a man finally reaches a level in life through hard work and sacrifice, a little reward for the effort is a "crisis"

Yeah, somehow, somewhere, everybody should eventually have a roadster.  Ours was a '92 Miata (what, me, emasculated?).  Marvelous fun.

Eventually we tired of looking at SUV and other faux 4-wheelers' undercarriages and switched back to something that rides higher.

Now we have a better view of all the two-story-high utility/combo vehicles, most in somber shades of black, gray, silver, or dark red.  What ever happened to the frivolous color combos of the '50s?

Oh it is a far, far more somber driving world than we grew up in.

You guys keep some fun stirred up with your 'vettes.
